About Kanu Kapers

Established in 2002, Kanu Kapers Australia was created by local Australian World Champion gold medal kayaker Vivienne Golding and adventure partner Kym McGregor. After over 20 years building Kanu Kapers and more than 5 years of constant pleas by Adventure Tribe, we finally convinced Vivienne and Kym to retire so we could carry on their great work and continue to grow the business.

In 2024 Kanu Kapers finally joined the tribe.

We provide sustainable guided and self-guided Noosa everglades kayak adventures, love nature and are blessed to work in such a pristine location. The Noosa Everglades are ecologically delicate so each expedition sea kayak is custom designed with a long water line and rudders allowing you to explore the full everglades system under your own paddle power. Bursting with rare plant and animal species this magical area identified as one of the most pristine wetlands in the world is best explored by kayak for minimum impact and maximum kayak cruising pleasure and wildlife experiences. All you hear is the sound of your paddle gliding through the water and the amazing bird song.

Our aim is to provide a unique and awe-inspiring experience to people of all ages whilst promoting love and respect for nature and preserving the Noosa Everglades for future generations to enjoy.

Kanu Kapers is based in Boreen Point on the shores of the Noosa River system in the heart of the magnificent sun drenched beaches of the Sunshine Coast in Queensland Australia a mecca for kayaking and canoeing adventures.

The Noosa Everglades

Hidden within the Cooloola section of the Great Sandy National Park is one of the Sunshine Coast’s best kept paddling secrets, the Noosa Everglades. Best explored by kayak, the upper reaches of the Noosa River and the Everglades represent an ancient waterway that has existed largely unchanged for thousands of years.

Our kayaking company (Kanu Kapers) offers half, one, two and three day guided and self guided tours in our easy to paddle and stable expedition sea kayaks. A kayak tour into the Noosa Everglades is an inspiring day out among some of the most spectacular scenery you will find any where in the world. Kayak hire is simple with our sleek, modern, comfortable expedition sea kayaks.

The Noosa Everglades are situated within the Northern portion of the Noosa Biosphere, Queensland’s first UNESCO Biosphere promoting harmony between people and nature through education, conservation and sustainable activities. The Noosa Biosphere Reserve encompasses 150,000 hectares of land and sea in which you can investigate the diversity of our eco-systems and culture. A wetland of international importance, it is the only river system in Australia that has its entire upper catchment protected in National Park.

Where are the Noosa Everglades?

It is generally accepted that the true Noosa Everglades are the remote Northern stretches of the Upper Noosa River, where the fresh water meets the salt.
