+ What to bring?
We supply compasses, maps, pencils, erasers, coffee, tea and water for use in the morning, but please bring the following.
- Enclosed shoes
- Wear something comfortable and...'hikey' (Because it isn't all sitting down)
- A jumper (because it can get suprisingly cold...but seriously, it can be very cold)
- Wear something that you don’t mind if it gets a little damaged. It’s outdoor adventure and sometimes isn’t kind to clothes :)
- Water bottle
- Pen
- Insect repellant
- If you use hiking poles to hike, bring them just in case you need them to navigate as well.
- Glasses if you need them
- Medication if you need it (including epi pens)
+ Who can attend?
Individuals must be at least Fifteen (15) years of age unless otherwise organised with us because the content can be a little tricky.
You and those in your care must not be under the effect of drugs (whether prescription or otherwise) or alcohol.
+ How much physical activity is involved in the course?
We try to make the course as active as possible however some groups will require more class work than others so the amount does tend to vary. Our aim is to have at least 25% not in your seats but sometimes we can spend 75%-80% in a formal training environment.
Please note that some of our activities may be uneven under foot or very wet under foot if it's been raining. Please advise your facilitator if there are certain activities that you can't undertake and never do anything if you think it may place you at risk.
+ Cancellations
- Please note that Cancellations and re-schedules need to occur at least one week before the course date. Should it fall within the 7 day period, we will try to fill the vacancy however if we are unable, your enrolment fee will be forfeit.
- We may need to cancel or postpone the activity in excessively wet or dangerous conditions due to safety.
